The moments leading up to a divorce and the time spent going through the oftentimes tedious process can be some of the worst time spent for many divorcing couples. It’s because of contentious disputes and mounting frustrations that many people across the nation, including many here in Arizona, believe that things must get easier after the divorce dust has settled. Unfortunately for many families across the nation though this isn’t always the case, and oftentimes hearing these personal stories helps other people realize that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
Take for example the personal experiences of The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik who recently wrote about her top ten wishes as a divorced woman on her blog. Her recent post was in response to another blog post in which a married woman expressed envy about the freedom she felt her divorced friend had. But while jealousy might be a very common reaction for many people, hearing about the real-life struggles single parents face can often change this impression. By pointing this out in her blog post, Bialik hoped to do just that.
Even though Bialik’s celebrity life might seem very different from many of our readers’ lives here in Arizona, you might be surprised to learn that she has many of the same fears, concerns and wishes that any divorced parent might have. Some of her top wishes were to provide the same comforts and joys she had when she was married, even pointing out that story time sometimes makes her cringe when she reads about a happy family with two parents. In Bialik’s opinion, being a single parent is not easy and that divorce does not necessarily give a person more freedom. She also points out that even though divorce can alleviate some of the problems married couples face, it is not a decision that should be taken lightly.
